Temple to Play UCLA in EagleBank Bowl

The 110th Army Navy game was played today on Temple’s homefield of Lincoln Financial Field.  Army needed a win to earn a bowl berth, but Navy was too much as they cruised in the 2nd half to win their 8th straight game over Army 17-3.  Army led 3-0 at half, but Navy scored a touchdown on their first possesion in the 2nd half.  They never looked back.  Army ran just 4 plays in the 3rd quarter.

With the Navy win over Army, Temple now knows they will face off against UCLA on Dec. 29th at 4:30.  UCLA was 6-6 on the year, but just 3-6 in Pac 10 play.  UCLA struggled offensively all season long, averaging just 21.3 points per game.

In 2005, Temple was looking for a new head coach.  UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel interviewed for the job, but the two sides couldn’t finalize a deal.  So, Temple went with head coach Al Golden.  In 2007, UCLA was looking for a new coach, Al Golden interviewed, but Neuheisel got the position.
