5. Butler over 13. Murray State (54-52)
- Murray State wouldn’t go away, but it was Butler’s Ronald Nored’s three-point play with 25.4 away that raced the Racers away.
- Butler went small in the 2nd half because Matt Howard was plagued with foul trouble. The Bulldogs outscored Murray State 32-26 in the 2nd half.
- Butler extends their winning streak to 22, the nation’s longest.

6. Tennessee over 14. Ohio (83-68)
- Unlike Georgetown, Tennessee actually played defense en route to an easy victory.
- It’s the 3rd sweet sixteen appearance for Tennesee out of the last 4 years.
- Tennessee absolutely annihilated the Bobcats in the paint 55-12. J.P. Prince had 18, while Scotty Hopson put in 17.
