Top 3 Games

  1. Cincinnati at St. Louis (9-8 Cin)

The Reds once again took sole possession of 1st place in the NL Central in a wild 9-8 win.  Cincinnati relinquished leads of 3-0 and 7-3 en route to finally prevailing after Francisco Cordero picked up his 16th save of the season.

3B Scott Rolen keeps rolling as he went bye twice to give him 12 home runs on the season.  1B Joey Votto came back after a six game hiatus in style going 4-5, just a double short of the cycle. 

2. Tampa Bay at Toronto (TB- 7-6)

Down 5-3 in the 9th, the Rays resiliently charged back scoring 4 in the 9th to take a 7-5 lead.  Sean Rodriguez hit a double clearing the bases that led to the win.  Soriano preserved the victory with his 15th save of the season.

3. Arizona at Los Angeles (LA- 1-0 F/10) 

Instead of a balk-off, the Dodgers won this one in a walk-off of the bat of Matt Kemp.  Arizona’s Dan Haren threw 8 shutout innings while Dodger’s rookie John Ely tossed 7 shutout innings of his own.
