6/5/10- Rocky’s Recap

Top 3 Games

1. MLB- New York at Toronto (Tor- 3-2 F/14)

Toronto pulled within 1 1/2 games of the mighty empire.  Maybe they should have kept Roy Halladay.  2B Aaron Hill provided the climactic ending with a walk-off single in the 14th.

The Jays once again got a solid start from SP Ricky Romero.  Romero went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs, punching out 7.  The Yankees Andy Pettite struck out a season-high 10.

Game Rating- 3 1/4*

2. MLB- Milwaukee at St. Louis (Stl- 5-4 F/11)

St. Louis OF Colby Rasmus got a new pair of contact lenses.  All of sudden, he can hit again.  In the 11th, Rasmus sent the Cardinal fans home happy with a walk-off single.  Rasmus is has 10 hits in his last 20 at-bats.

Albert Pujols hit another bye, going yard for the 13th time this season.  Only 2 of those homers have come at home.

Game Rating- 2 1/2*

3. MLB- Minnesota at Oakland (Min- 4-3)

Minnesota’s Matt Tolbert hit the go-ahead single in the 9th to win it for the Twins.  This came after the A’s came back in the 8th, scoring two, to tie it 3-3.

SP Francisco Liriano remains dominant as he struck out 10 A’s batters.
